Did You Know You Can Come To Us For Advice On Insuring Your Home & Contents?

We may have previously advised you that you will find cheaper options to insure your home & contents online. However, we have now added Paymentshield to our panel. Via their portal we can offer the best levels of cover whilst still being competitive on price.

In a survey, members of the public were asked some questions about their Buildings & Contents cover. Here are some interesting facts & figures to come out of the answers.

Do you understand the features & benefits of your Buildings & Contents insurance?

12% – Home insurance policyholders who admit to not reading their Terms & Conditions.

53% – Home insurance policyholders who admit to only skim reading their Terms & Conditions.

9% – Home insurance policyholders who expect their home insurance to cover wear & tear (it doesn’t).

63% – Think accidental damage is covered as standard.

Do you know what you’re covered for?

Now that you’ve read that and (statistically, at least) recognised your own position you must ask yourself; ‘Do I Know What I’m Covered For?’

Almost a third of this sample, when asked if they had cover for personal possessions as part of their home insurance, said that they didn’t know.

Do you understand Financial Terms?

26% admit to not feeling confident they understand the jargon used to explain financial products and/or services.
